Lent at Christ Church
Lent, observed from Ash Wednesday to Easter Saturday, is a time for self-examination and spiritual renewal, reminding us of Jesus' 40 days of fasting and temptation in the wilderness. We invite you join us in these Lenten gatherings at Christ Church.
Ash Wednesday Dinner & Service
Wednesday, March 5, Dinner at 6:00 pm, Service at 7:00 pm
On Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, we gather for dinner in the Community Hall followed by a meditative service in the Sanctuary. During the service, we are led in prayer, song, Scripture, and a homily to help us meditate on Jesus’ suffering, and we are marked with a cross made with ashes.
CCKids offered for crawlers, toddlers, and preschoolers. No need to register!
Palm Sunday Service
Sunday, April 13, at 10:30 am
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, as we remember Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem with joyful music and waving palms.
Good Friday Prayer Vigil
Friday, April 18, from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm
Inspired by Jesus' words on the eve of Good Friday — "Can you not keep watch with me one hour?" — Christ Church will keep a Good Friday Prayer Vigil. The day will be segmented into hours based on the chronological events of the first Good Friday. Our hope is that at least one person would be available for every hour; please sign up for your preferred hour here. Prayer Guides will be provided or may be accessed here if you wish to pray from home.
Good Friday Service
Friday, April 18, at 6:00 pm
Good Friday is an old way of saying 'God's Friday,' the day of Jesus' death on the cross. During this meditative worship service we will allow Scripture, prayer, and song to help us reflect on the crucifixion and follow Jesus on the ‘Way of the Cross.’
Childcare offered for crawlers, toddlers, and preschoolers.
